FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jackson Police remind residents and visitors about the annual Snow-Tow ordinance.

(Jackson, Wy) It is that time of year again when parking on public streets is prohibited from 3am to 7am for winter street maintenence. This parking prohibition begins November 1st and ends April 15th and is enforced regardless of weather.

If your vehicle is left on the public streets within the time frame, it may be cited and or towed at the owner's expense. The fines for such citations/tows are as follows:

  • Just the cite: $70
  • Cited and Towed: $155 ($85 for the tow + $70 for cite =$155)

If you receive a citation and have your vehicle towed, present yourself at the Police Department at 150 E. Pearl Ave; you'll have three options:

  1. Pay for the entire amount of money at the time you pick up your vehicle
  2. Pay only the $85 for the tow bill and pay citation via mail or the Town Hall during business hours
  3. Pay for the $85 tow bill and contest the citation by attending Municipal Court on Wednesdays at 3pm or writing a letter of contest to the Municipal Court.

Regardless of the options, if your vehicle is towed you WILL be required to pay the tow bill in order to collect your vehicle.

If you have any questions regarding the winter maintenence ordinance, please call us at 307-733-1430 or 307-733-2331.
